Optiwin Window Systems
Wooden windows, outdoors and glazing facades for low-energy and passivehouses.
Optiwin passive systems offers the following products to the market place —
- Windows
- External Doors
- Glazing façade systems
The main factors behind our systems are Resistance, design, flexibility of use and ecology.
A well balanced climate has a really big impact on the comfort in your home. We at Optiwin know how much of a factor windows and doors have on your room climate, so we see our products not as insulation or protection from outside to inside but as an instrument for comfort control.
Our solutions are low energy window systems (energy efficient windows) and door systems for carbon neutral homes or passive houses. Available low energy windows for passive homes are tilt and turn windows, double glaze windows and triple glaze windows.
With the patented Wood2wood technology, we offer a well designed product which is flexible in its uses and also in Maintenance. The Wood3wood system from Optiwin was the very first wooden passive house window certified by the Passive House Institute and now the Wood2wood system is also Passive House certified and with a much slimmer profile. Passive Home windows must adhere to strict standards of double glazing and triple glazing to qualify.
Within this range we also offer an Aluminium2wood system (Alu2wood).
Natural Oil can be used for protection on the Wood2wood system, this oil is specially processed and is hand applied for protecting the wood both outside and inside against the weathering elements. For more information on Maintenance please visit our maintenance section where the information is downloadable.
Optiwin passive house windows are very competitive in their pricing against other window systems, however in terms of design, manufacturing and quality there are no other window systems to match giving the energy performance across the system.
Client Testimony
Eamonn Horgan - Shannon Co Limerick
"They are a very effective window due to their efficient frame and glass set up and really retain heat in winter and help heat the house - even on a winters day with sun, the house temperature rises 3-4 degrees as a result of solar gain - resulting in considerably reduced heating costs - we have a Geothermal heat pump off an Airtricty ESB meter. Total ESB costs for the year were 1,000 all in, including light, heat and hot water (house=2,900sq meters). We have a solid fuel stove and ordinary fireplace neither of which we have used as there is just no need for additional heat in the house. So the windows have been a critical factor to the overall efficeincy of the house. These Passive standard windows are an ideal choice for any house build whether you are going for a full passive standard house or just a very efficient wallet and eco-friendly house"
